Get Plastered – New Recessed Blade Options

After consultation with leading architects and extensive market research, Aesthetics have unveiled a new range of recessed plaster housings for Micro and Slot Blades. Designed to create a smooth, trimless effect to maximise a minimalist white environment and become part of the architectural detail for residential and commercial projects, this new development is taking the design world by storm.

Side-mounted, vertical, straight down, around corners, Blade has a plaster housing for each application. Detailed installation instructions for builders are available for housings to be fixed in place at the joinery stage of construction, so there’s no last-minute panicking or rough finishes. An Aesthetics consultancy service is also available for on-site expert advice to ensure fittings are mounted correctly.

Slice Blade Wall Uplight Developments

Recent feedback from the market has led to three design changes to the Slice Blade wall uplight range, both halogen and fluorescent types. Firstly, we have replaced the clear halogen lamp cover with a frosted lamp cover for the halogen lamp, both to reduce glare and to enhance the ambient effect.

Secondly, the geartray has been adjusted to allow a more even light distribution across the wall, instead of creating a sharp shadow effect. The photo on the left shows the new softer uplight, instead of the previous version, shown at right.

And last, the new wall bracket is now available, much smaller and able to 'hide' between the wall surface and the back of the light. This means there is no visible overhang, leaving a cleaner perpendicular finish, and the chance to install the fitting further down a wall.
